I have worked as a Software Developer for 24 years, the last 13 years as an Internet Developer.

I have a real passion for Web Development.

I have excellent experience in application architecture, project management and hands on coding.

I am a Pragmatic Programmer!

I have used many web technologies, but most of my commercial experience has been with PHP and mySQL.

I am passionate about all aspects of the web especially, web standards, usability, accessibility and interface design.

I have worked as a Manager, Team Leader, Lead Developer and Software Engineer as well as a Programmer.

I have lead a Distributed Web Development Team.

I have excellent web development skills, including XHTML, DHTML, JavaScript, Web 2.0, AJAX, CSS, PHP (3 - 5), ASP (VBScript), XML, mySQL, PostgresSQL and MS SQLServer.

I have also had practical on the job experience of Drupal, FLASH ActionScript, JAVA, JSP, Perl / CGI, ColdFusion, InterBase, jQuery and SEO (Search Engine Optimisation).

I have an excellent work ethic and profesional attitude.

I have a talent for communicating ideas, issues and solutions in a team environment.

I am based in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.

Hobbies and Interests

I am a keen traveller and have visited Italy, America, Germany, The Netherlands, France, Hawaii, South Africa and Norwegian Lapland.

In my spare time I like to draw and read.

I also have a keen interest in history, particularly Roman, Egyptian and Scottish.

Until my move to Australia I was an active member of NorthAvon Speakers club, part of Toastmaster International (www.toastmasters.org (external link)), including serving as Vice President of Public Relations on the Executive Comity.

I have attended the Open Source Developers Conference (OSDC) (osdc.com.au (external link)) from 2006 - 2010.
